Only the Big 4 should be placed in your recycling bin:

  1.   Corrugated Cardboard
  2.   Plastic Bottles and Jugs with a Neck
  3.   Metal Food and Beverage Cans
  4.   Glass Bottles and Jars

Everything else does not belong in your recycling bin.

If you think something may be recyclable (such as newspaper or plastic bags), visit  for a list of potential drop-off locations.  Otherwise, place the material in your trash.  Do not put anything other than the Big 4 in your recycling bin.  Remember the phrase:  "When in doubt, throw it out!".  LCSWMA will transform discarded waste into renewable energy.

This includes any size material consisting of a fluted corrugated sheet, like shipping boxes, packaging boxes, CLEAN pizza boxes (no grease or food remnants), etc.  Flatten all boxes and remove packaging including styrofoam, peanuts, bubble wrap and plastic liners.  Do NOT put paperboard (cereal boxes, shoe boxes), newsprint or junk mail in the bin.

•  We now have changed our method of recycling from curb-side separation to what is known as "single-stream".  We are still recycling what we collect, we are just changing the process to save more time while collecting.   This means we will be collecting earlier as well.  Please have all trash and recycling out the night before your scheduled pick up day.

•  Please review the information below for the details.  Feel free to download and print the updated information for your convenience.

•   Effective January 7, 2019, there is no longer a charge for Christmas Trees.  If you want to recycle them follow the Municipal Christmas Tree Recycling Program(download).  Otherwise, you can put your Christmas tree out with your regular trash at no extra cost.
